J.J. Vega is what happens when your name is Jason J. van Gumster and you try to sound out the initials of that name. Then you turn those sounds into an alter ego for writing exciting adventure stories in a dark and unhappy future. Okay, maybe you don’t do that, but that’s exactly who J.J. Vega is. He lives in someone else’s brain, mixing and matching the disparate concepts that float around in there until they coalesce into a story worth committing to words and sentences. It’s an odd life, with exposure to the world limited to the wee hours of the morning when most folks are asleep. However, if he does his job right, you’ll be awake, too, unable to stop reading the words that were written at that same hour.
